<p>I use <a href="http://tqft.net/" rel="nofollow">my own OpenID</a>, because I'd prefer not to be dependent on a particular provider. (Of course, my website just delegates to somewhere else, with a single line in the section.)</p> <p>For some reason, climatedeal.org has disabled login using arbitrary OpenIDs. (It's enabled by default in the StackExchange software -- I help run another such site, so I know how this works.) This makes me sad! Is there a reason for this? Could you restore the URL field, perhaps <em>below</em> the icons for the "big" providers?</p>

<p>In fact the option is available, but it <strike>is</strike> was hidden. A workaround <a href="http://community.climatedeal.org/revisions/340/list" rel="nofollow">existed</a> but is now no longer relevant. </p>
