It seems there are many different ways (Open ID, Google, Yahoo, etc.).

How do I log in climatedeal.org ?

A recent change now also allows one to use a plain-old email address and password. (But, my recommendation would be to adopt OpenID instead.)

ClimateDeal has now two options to login as you mentioned. We decided to allow both options (normal User and Password and OpenID) to ease the registration and login for users who do not have OpenID accounts. Users who do have OpenID can still use these to login. :) – Luis Feb 8 at 14:35
@Luis, as this is a FAQ question: maybe you can edit your comment into Robert's answer? – Arjan Feb 8 at 14:58

I created an account a while ago and now try to log in again but it doesn't work. (I created a new account by accident) what did I do wrong?

The site was move to another server causing problems to users who used their google accounts to sign in. We are really sorry about this problem it was out of our control, but the changes made will improve the service. – Noel Oct 31 at 17:19

If you just want to ask or answer a question you do not need to register. You do need to register if you want to earn reputation which lets you vote, retag, and edit.

To register for Climatedeal.org, click the login link at the top of the page. Rather than storing users and passwords ourselves, Climatedeal.org integrates with OpenID accounts.

Basically this is a new "login once, go to any site" technology. If you already have one (it will look like a web address starting with http:// your-username.your-provider.com /), then enter it into the text box on the login page (including the http://) and click the Login button. If you don't have one (or think you don't have one), keep reading...

Any website can become an OpenID provider. Many, like Google, Facebook, and Yahoo! already are. If you don't have any of those, you can get a new OpenID by following this procedure:

Go to https://www.myopenid.com/signup Make up a user name Put in a password Enter any email address you want to use Enter the text in the captcha Check the I Agree to... checkbox Click Sign Up That should give you an OpenID and it will look like a website address (http://...myopenid.com). You can use that on any OpenID site including Climatedeal.org.
